Call for Papers

This year’s conference is a practical, hands-on event providing a springboard to explore and develop effective practices and enhance the scholarship of clinical legal education.

To achieve this springboard, Day Two will be dedicated to the following streams:

  • Supervision of students and client cases
  • What are we assessing and giving feedback on?
  • Preparation for clinic: readiness and supporting students
  • An open section organised into crowd-sourced themes

Each stream will be introduced by a convenor, followed by papers from delegates and finishing with a plenary. Delegates will participate throughout the stream.

On Day Three, the following themes will be explored through 3×20 minute paper sessions:

  • New Technologies
  • Ethics and Values
  • New Clinics
  • Other developments in Clinical Education

Keynote Presentations:

  • Changing Clinic: Evolution or Revolution?
  • Supporting Students to Act Consistently with Their Values
  • Clinic 2.0 – AI and Technology in Clinical Legal Education

 

Featuring the Editorial Breakfast Café (Days Two and Three)

Designed to foster ideas for clinical scholarship, research for publication and international collaboration.

 

Key Dates

The call for paper proposals has been extended. The call for papers closed on June 30th 2018.

Confirmation of papers, accepted for the conference – no later than July 31st, 2018.

The conference timing dovetails with;

  • the International Legal Ethics Conference (Melbourne Law School, December 6-8), and
  • the Law and Society Association of Australia and New Zealand Conference (Wollongong Law School, December 12-15).

Paper proposal submission

Presentations will be in traditional conference paper format, with twenty-minute presentations not including questions. Please submit your paper proposal using this link.
