This role is based within the Legal Advice Centre (LAC) in the School of Law. The LAC provides a free, accessible, client centered advice service to the public. We act as a first-tier advice agency: providing preliminary advice on the strength of the client’s case, the processes that need to be followed, and an explanation of complex legal issues. Clients come to the Centre from a wide variety of backgrounds and present a wide range of legal issues.
The Client Services Coordinator works under the LAC Director (CLE) and Director of External Relations for the Legal Advice Centre to assist in the day-to-day operation and running of the LAC. The Client Services Coordinator works alongside the LAC Projects Coordinator. The LAC is assisted by one full time and one part-time Administrator.
The Client Services Coordinator assists in the education and development of Law Students engaging with the Legal Advice Centre and manages the client enquiry service and day-to-day running of the Centre. The Client Services Coordinator supervises and ensures the effective operation of client appointment evenings.
The post is full time (35 hours per week), and is a maternity leave cover for 14 months. The expected start date is late January 2018. Starting salary will be in the range of £31,054 – £39,483 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
